hi, i'm maggie.

{like the rod stewart song}

i'm a quirky millennial living in the bay area who loves dark beer, hiking, exposed brick, and creative endeavors, in particular sewing for my four nieces: nora, etta, maya, and neela.

continuing my series of my favorite homemade gifts today with gifts for babies and new moms. (want to take revisit my past posts? you can find my favorite kid toys and accessories here, my favorite little girl apparel gifts here, and my favorite little boy apparel gifts can here.)

first off the obvious: who doesn't think of a onesie for a newborn gift? here is neela in her put a bird on it onesie from the lullaby layette pattern from oliver + s:

add in a pair of just hatched baby leggings, a super easy quick pattern from made by rae (shout out to ann arbor!)

two onesies and a lullaby layette jacket make quite the ensemble as i did here for my cousin's baby:

shameless pandering via picture of cute baby:

speaking of the lullaby layette, pj pants are always a good choice. like these lorax ones i made neela for maya's third birthday.

bonus points for matching the ones i made a few months maya earlier.

well anything that matches big sister is awesome. here is neela in a lullaby layette long sleeved top to match her sister's fireworks dress:

finally my personal favorite gift for babies and new moms: a top for the baby and a coordinating infinity scarf for mom. new moms love infinity scarves as they can be adjusted to cover spills, spit up, nursing bra lines, etc.

love,

aunt maggie
