honeycomb mini southport dress

more flower girl fabric leftovers!

i was smitten with the true bias mini southport dress from the moment i saw it and couldn’t wait to make my own. however as we all know being really excited about something often leads to building it up in your head and being let down by the reality.

this was not one of those times.

my first two renditions of this pattern (etta’s back to school dress last year and maya’s back to school dress this year) left me just as enamored with this pattern as when i first saw it on gail’s blog years ago.

using the honeycomb fabric from fabric depot that was left over from flower girl dresses i made my third version of this dress for my cousins’ daughter, and it turned out lovely. my only edit was to swap the buttons for simple snaps, because i couldn’t stomach the thought of putting my button hole foot anywhere near that perfect placket.

now back to our regularly scheduled programming of semi artistic photos taken in my living room.
